About Us
Swansea Malayalee Association ( SMA) was a dream come true for all Malayalees of Swansea,
Wales.Malayalees from all walks of lives.
SMA was officially inaugurated on 2nd September 2006 by the Welsh assembly Member Ms Val Lloyds. This auspicious occasion was graced by Ex Mayor of Swansea Mr.Grenvil Phillips, Head Teacher of St. Joseph’s Infants school Ms. Ann Haache, Parish Priest of Holy Cross church ,Gendros Fr.Sebastian Mundackal along with all Malayalees of Swansea.
This event was followed by the celebration of Malayalee’s own Festival – ONAM . The event was loaded with various arts and sports activities. It was an opportunity for the members to display their talents and abilities. It was a proud moment for every malayalee of Swansea to appreciate and encourage the talents of it’s members.
This event was hosted at Holy Cross Church’s Parish hall -Gendros.

SMA members hails from Swansea, Morriston, Mumbles, Sketty, St.Thomas, Cocket, Llanelli,
Gorseinon, Bridgend, Camarthan and Tenby.
SMA is headed by President, Vice President, Secretary, Joint Secretary, and Treasurer with four
executive members. The office bearers get elected every year on the month of June.
LINCY EMMANUEL MEMORIAL EVER ROLLING TROPHY
This trophy is dedicated to the loving memory of Lincy Emmanuel who was one
of the pioneer members of Swansea Malayalee Association. Before she was called
to her eternal reward at an early age she worked as staff nurse in Morriston hospital,
Swansea, Wales, U.K.
In order to keep her memory alive and as a token of our gratitude
to her and to the family SMA has decided to have the Tug of War
Winner’s ever rolling trophy in her name. This is an annual event
started from 2007
The First Team to win this very special trophy is Morriston,Swansea, U.K.
